Cloud Computing moves information storage and software development away from hardware; nearly all the services we once bought on floppy disks and CDs, or downloaded off the Internet, are or will be available within your browser. Internet recruiting is a part of this evolution. Why use multiple recruiting services when you can work from a single platform with all the top recruiting services from anywhere on the internet?

The Gartner Group estimates that SaaS for enterprise software will grow at a rate 17.7% annual compound rate through the year 2013, which is five times the expected growth rate of the total enterprise software market. Gartner also measures the current SaaS market at $10.2 billion and projects the 2015 market at $21.3 billion.

Internet recruiting has changed because of the sheer volume of information, candidates, and services now available online. But more information does not mean better communication. SaaS organizes the information, allowing the user to leverage the Internet’s reach across many channels onto one platform. In addition, through online communities such as GetSatisfaction, the business learns what the user demands within their software. Simplification. Each business only has so many hands.

The collaborative aspect of SaaS cannot be underestimated. Hiring for the team requires the input of the team. An Akken White Paper reported that nearly 40% of HR executives surveyed plan to implement SaaS in ”one or more of their core HR systems” by the end of the year, and nearly 50% by the end of 2012. I think these respected estimates are conservative.
