SmartRecruiters Wins iTalent Startup Competition

Academia may come up with ideas on how to reduce friction in the labor market, but it is the businesses’ responsibility to implement the methods for real growth in output. Dale Mortensen won the 2010 Nobel Prize for his thoughts on how to reduce friction in the labor market. SmartRecruiters looks to Professor Mortensen as proof that the labor markets can and should be made more efficient.

In Las Vegas last week I did exactly what everybody wants to do when they come to Vegas, watched presentations on how businesses are leveraging cutting edge technology to reduce friction in the labor market. There truly were innovative companies at the HR Demo Show and HRO Forum Today in Las Vegas.

SmartRecruiters competed in the iTalent 2 competition. With an emphasis on using disruption to promote the next generation, it was judged on how startups used new technology, processes and business models to rethink and reinvent the means of talent acquisition. We were fortunate enough to be announced the winner.
